About the project
The special exhibition at the Magdeburg Cultural History Museum ran from 28 April to 8 October 2023. It examined depictions of Otto the Great in art and historical culture from the late Middle Ages to the present.
Paintings, sculpture and graphic works presented different interpretations of his life. The exhibition also focused on women around him, including Editha, Adelaide, Theophanu and Hrotsvitha of Gandersheim.
